Tramore Races are all systems go!

The first thing I did this morning was check the Tramore Races Facebook page to see if the track passed inspection and yes, we’re off racing – myself, Joan and Maria that is.  This will be our Galway as the girls didn’t travel up this year.  And the real treat is dinner in The Spinnaker Bar in Dunmore East on the way – yum – I know what I’m going to have before I get there, Surf ‘N Turf – yum again.  We’re staying in Dunmore East tonight so that should be fun, Dunmore East has a charm all its own.

And I’m a relieved bunny this morning as we had a great night last night at the table quiz for Templetown Church heating fund – phew!  We had 20 tables and made over €730 – how about that?!  I’m grateful for everyone turning up on the night but also the sponsors of prizes have to be commended.  I employ the attitude of ‘don’t ask, don’t get’ and I got!  Thanks to Hook Lighthouse and Loftus Hall, Heritage Ireland, Tintern Abbey and Colclough Walled Gardens, Dillons Londis, Salon 60, Healing Touch Massage, Lily’s Pizzeria, Guinness and I don’t know where Damian got the rugby tickets but that was a great coup!  And of course I have to thank ‘himself’ for doing MC, he was entertaining…  And Damian in Templar’s Inn couldn’t have done any more for us on the night.  I think everyone, winner or loser went home happy.  (I nearly forgot, we ran out of raffle tickets and Neville’s Bar came to our rescue – thank you.)

So there’s still a bit of work to be done here before I head off.  I’m stopping on the way in New Ross to get the hair put up and the headgear fitted in Caroline’s Hair Creations – ‘cos I’m worth it!!  Hopefully we’ll have a few winners – fingers crossed.
