Brigid won top prize
We had our golf society meal and presentation of prizes in Templar’s Inn last night and I must say we were very well looked after. We had a lovely meal, followed by prize giving (I didn’t even get a picky-outy) and then a bit of dancing to John Delaney. Damian dropped us home afterwards. I think all ladies went home happy – no mean fete – and we were all delighted for Brigid Doyle who won the Captain’s prize with a jaw-dropping good score.
Myself and himself got the bikes out and cycled out to Loftus Hall today, I hadn’t been out since it was taken over. What a hive of activity! They’re just doing historical tours of the outside of the building at present but there was a constant stream of cars coming and going. They also do local bike tours. We enjoyed a cuppa al fresco and we had a browse around the craft shop which has just opened. They display and sell crafts from local people, everything from knitting, crochet (Hook Crochet – well impressive), painting, woodwork, jewellery, soaps, candles and cards. It’s a fabulous display of local talent. I’ve heard about a similar group based in Tintern Abbey, Colclough Craft Collective, but I haven’t been down to see them yet – watch this space!
I actually had a little nap this afternoon but I was disgusted to wake up to the rain – and the clothes are still on the line since yesterday… I hope the sun hasn’t gone for good.
